Justin is diver on the boys swimming/diving team. Justin placed second at the sectional diving competition this past Saturday. He scored a personal and a school record high 445.15. Overall, he is ranked the 20th best diver in the state.

Megan lead the team to a regional victory over Elgin high - 58-27 with 18 points, 5 assists, 9 rebounds. She was named All conference and averaged 14 points per game during the month of Feb.
Junior Guard Marissa Knobloch (#25) of the Marengo Girls Varsity Basketball Team. She has lead us to a 22-8 record. Just this past week she helped us win our first regional title in 13 years, with the last being in 2005. We beat 27-3 Burlington Central, a team we have not beaten in 6 years, for the Regional Championship. We've won our past six games dating back to 1/29/18 with regular season wins over Round Lake, Johnsburg, Richmond Burton, & Woodstock. In addition, we beat Rock Falls in the Regional Semi-Final and Burlington in the Regional Championship. In that stretch she has averaged 17 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, made 14 three pointers, and went 24 of 27 from the free throw line (89%). She had a monster game against Johnsburg with 25 points and 12 rebounds, a strong 23 point performance against Woodstock (including 5 of 8 three-pointers), and a game-high 17 points in our Regional Championship over Burlington Central.
Chris Conway is our Elgin High School's varsity Boy's Bowling captain. He averaged 199 in conference play, 202 overall. He recently rolled a 300 in our regional tournament, advancing to sectionals with a first-place individual score of 1327. His two 300's in his high school career are a school record. He is a dedicated student, leader and athlete.
Sophomore 5'11" 12 ppg 7rpg 2 spg Brianna has played well as a starting sophomore scoring 12 ppg, 7 rpg, and 2 spg. She has helped beat Westminster Christian and Elgin this past week. She is a two-year starting varsity guard and has received an all-tournament team at the Burlington Central Thanksgiving tournament.
Fernando has been one of or most solid defenders on the team for the last two years and is responsible for many of our wins preventing fast break attacks on our goal. He was All-conference first team last year and expected to be in the running for all conference and all sectional this year. He is a captain on the team this year and has been one of the most focused and dedicated athletes we have. He displays consistent maturity and holds a high GPA in school while participating in High School and Club Sports year round. He is a 4 year varsity letter athlete and has started and played every game this year.
Samantha Dietz is currently a captain for the second year on the South Elgin Varsity Dance Team. Samantha has been on the varsity team for 4 years. During this time she has been a 3 time state qualifier earning both a team 3rd and 5th place finish. Samantha has been an all conference athlete for 2 years in a row. During this season she was named as an All American dancer for UDA and helped qualified her team to a national bid.
Passing-24/43, 55% completion percentage, 260 yards passing, 3 TD's, 3 Interceptions, 1 2pt conversion pass Rushing-78 carries, 700 yards, 8.97 yards per carry, 11 rushing TD's, 1 2pt conversion rush During those 3 games, he accounted for a total of 14 touchdowns.
Sophia has won both Fox Valley Conference Triangular races this month, won the Harlem Invitational, placed 16th out of 381 runners at the First to the Finish Invite in Peoria and placed 4th out of 129 runners at the Eddington Invitational hosted by Kaneland high school.
I would like to nominate Kennard (KJ)Redmond; he finished All-Conference in two relays and the 110m High Hurdles at last week's Boys Upstate Eight Conference meet and set a school record in the hurdles, to boot. He is a member of the Black History Club and holds a 3.05 GPA.
4 year Varsity player, current captain, starter and senior. She leads her team in goals(5) and assists(4). Has used her commitment to Winona State University for fall of 2017 to lead her team on and off the field. She also maintains a 4.0 GPA.
Bobby Tornabene Junior 113 pound wrestler is 7-1 over the past 3 weeks of wrestling. and 22-8 overall on the season
Mackenzie (Mackie) scored her 1000th point on January 18, 2017. She is the second Varsity Girls Basketball player to score over 1000 in the school history for Girls Basketball.
Angel Rios is 7-2 on the year, both loses came to kids ranked # 2 in the state in their divisions, He was the Fenton Tournament Champion pinning his way through the tournament.
After being out last year from tearing her ACL, Teagan returned to score 24 points in her first game back of the season which included five three point baskets.. SHE IS AVERAGING 14 POINTS PER GAME TO LEAD THE TEAM, AND HELPed SEHS TO THEIR BEST START OF THE SEASON IN SCHOOL HISTORY , 6-0
Dylan bowled a perfect score against Bartlett H.S. on November 15th. This is the first perfect score in South Elgin's school history. Dylan has also been on the Varsity bowling team all four years of high school.
Marlee has scored 73 points in the first three games for the Larkin Girls Varsity Basketball Team.
Kindrel Morris, RB, 914 yards rushing, 140 carries, 12 touchdowns and 146 yards receiving with 3 more touchdowns. Leads the area in rushing average (6.57 yards per rush).
Dominque is a senior and played in all 33 matches this year. Her current stats include: 30 aces 375 kills - Averaging 11 kills per match 27 blocks 223 digs
As a freshman Jonny has brought energy and excitement to the cross country team. Jonny was a part of the track team last year where he had great success and has now brought that determination to the HS team.
April has been on varsity for all four years of her high school volleyball career. She is the third of three sisters who have been a part of our volleyball program. April is a libero (a defensive position), but we needed her to play a different position this year and has been our best offensive player despite not normally playing that position. April helped lead our team to a win total one higher than last year already with about half our games still to play. Aprils stats for September so far are 85 kills (team high), 18 assists, 24 aces, 89 digs, 3 blocks, and a 2.12 serve receive rating (team high). Two high school coaches in the past week have came to me after matches and told me April is the best passer they have seen all season.

Natalie is a senior setter for us. She has been on varsity all 4 years of her high school career and has been a captain since her sophomore year. In August we played 3 matches and went 3-0 thanks to Natalie's leadership and skill. She also committed to play at Judson next year. Her stats for those 3 games in August were as follows. 10 aces, 24 service points, 18 kills, 62 assists, and 22 digs.
Seth was a part of the first year of Conqueror Track and brought his hard working mentality every day. Seth also is playing for the SCS Summer league basketball and has been an important part.

Nick became a leader on the track team this year. This was the first ever year for track at SCS and Nick did a great job of stepping right in to several events and improving each meet!
Melissa is a junior on Varsity softball at Streamwood HS. She has been a clutch player for us this season. Currently she has 3 home runs, and 13 RBI's. Her clutch walk-off home run won us the conference game vs Elgin HS. Her batting average in may is .304. She has 107 putouts at first base giving her a .880 fielding percentage. She deserves athlete of the month of May! She is a junior.
This is Gerardo's third year in the volleyball program and he is the starting right side for our varsity team. Gerardo works hard at every practice and every match. He does his best at all times and is a role model for others. In addition to having a positive attitude, being extremely hard-working and also very dedicated to the volleyball program, Gerardo maintains a 3.9 GPA and takes multiple AP classes while also balancing a job. In addition to playing volleyball, Gerardo has also been on the Wrestling team for the past three years and has also done a season each of football and soccer. Keep up the great work Gerardo!
Lindsay Zdroik leads the team in hitting through the first 11 games with a .633 average, 19 hits, 23 RBI's, 11 runs and 5 Home Runs. She is the Ace of the Lady Wave Staff with 9 appearances, 4 wins, 74 strike outs and an earned run average of 0.88 as she is closing in on the school strikeout record of 680 as she is at 608.
Sam came in as a senior this year ready to work hard. He gave his best each day in practice, which made the other players have to focus and work hard. He continued to develop as a player into our system.
Lauren came in as a freshman and brought her hard working mentality to the team right away. She became the 6th man for the Varsity girls this year and brought intensity on defense. She made others on her team better by pushing them to work harder!
Wylie qualified for state on Saturday by personally beating the 3rd, 5th, and 6th ranked wrestlers in the state and placing higher than the 4th. His season record is 34-3 with two of those losses being avenged on Saturday. He has battled through injuries all season and has led his team mates with excellent leadership. He is also a 4.0 student and is ranked in the top 10 in his class. Faith was the starting center on the Varsity girls basketball as a freshman. She came in and developed into a rebounder and defender. The coaching staff did a great job continuing to help her improve. She is going to be a big part of the team moving forward into next year.
Ben has been a consistent part of the basketball program for 4 years now. He has a great attitude and is always looking to help team mates get better. Ben stepped into the starting lineup due to an injury and played with passion and intensity. Ben is All In for the basketball program!
Kasey is a senior four year varsity cheerleader and has been captain since her Junior year. She is a great leader and mentor for girls her age as well as younger girls in the program. Kasey always strives to be her best and continuously pushes others to be their best. Kasey has outstanding work ethic and even now, while she is out with an injury she continues to come to practice and lead her team off the mat.
Tyler has come out strong to begin his senior year. He is leading the team in blocks and rebounds, and has had several games with 15 points or more making him hard to stop down low!
Gabby was a pioneer this year at SCS as she was the schools first ever student to represent SCS in swimming in the IHSA. Gabby won two sectional championships in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle at the Glenbard North Sectional! Gabby went on to swim a solid time at State and made all of SCS proud!! Gabby also just signed to swim for Pepperdine University next year!
Jacob Oury has taken first place 3 times this month. He won the Mane Event at Lisle High School on October 3rd, the Pumpkin run at Richmond-Burton on October 13th and was on the winning team at the Harvard Relays on October 10th. In addition to the number of first place finishes this month he has several from September and is an all-conference runner in the Fox Valley Conference. He is currently the school record holder at Hampshire High School for cross country at the 3 mile distance.
Dominque came right into the season ready to go. She improved her time throughout the season and also finished in 7th place at the Warrior Classic! She was one of the teams most consistent runners!
