Drew Demumbrum, baseball, pitched a complete game shutout vs Plainfield South and hit a 3 run homerun in the same game, had three multi-hit games the week of April 11 vs Oswego/Plainfield South/Bremen including another 3 run homerun vs Bremen, .386 batting average, 2 homeruns, 2 triples, 6 doubles, 11 RBIs, .509 on base percentage and 6 stolen bases.
Bianca Vozenilek, softball, 90 innings pitched, starting pitcher for 13 games, 13-0 record, 141 strikeouts, 1.322 ERA, .311 batting average with 4 homeruns and 11 RBIs.
The Plainfield Central Track and Field would like to nominate Michael Lyons as Athlete of the Month. A High Jumper on our team, Michael recently hit a Personal Record jump of 6’7” in our Indoor Southwest Prairie Conference competition. This jumps also breaks the Plainfield Central school record in the High Jump, a mark that has stood for almost 30 years. While not only a fantastic competitor in his event, he is also a great team leader and model for other athletes. Michael is no doubt deserving of this honor
She is our center offender and has been a consistent performer on varsity for the past 3 years. She’s our top scorer thus far this season and has proven to be one of our biggest offensive threats.
Zach is a senior wrestler. Currently ranked #4 in his weight class for Class 3A in the state. Zach is a returning 2x state qualifier. His record is 23-1 on the season. His only loss of the season was to the #1 ranked wrestler in his weight in OT 2-1. Zach was the Plano Reaper Classic Champion as well as the 3rd place wrestler at the Al Dvorak Memorial tournament. As well as being a standout wrestler, Zach is a leader in the wrestling room and in the classroom. Zach currently is in the top 1% of his class.
Jenna is a senior and one of the captains on the Varsity Pomcats and has competed on the team all four years of high school. She has also participated in the SPC Conference tournament ‘Best of the Best’ competition for turns all four years. Among her responsibilities as Captain she is also involved in WALC and NHS.
Bowled a perfect 300 game in competition and averaged over 230 for the day (6 games) Great team player Leadership skills
At this years IHSA State swim meet Carly became the Schools 1st State Champion in any sport for Plainfield North High School by winning the 100 Yard Butterfly. Onher way to the state title she won the Neuqua Valley Sectional and finished the season undefeated in the 100 Yard butterfly. Carly will continue her swimming career at Arizona State University.
This month Austin who is a four year starter broke the school record for goals scored in a career with 36 goals.
This month MacKenzie broke the school record in girls golf shooting a 37 at Heritage Bluffs golf course against Minooka. Two weeks later she was the named the most valuable golfer in the conference. She was also a sectional qualifier in the state series.
Nick was just select to the first team at the Bradley tournament and he has been one of our key players so far, also team captain in some games.
Deyshia is a three year varsity volleyball player and has started all three of those seasons she is our middle and was chosen to be team captain by her teammates. Last year Deyshia broke the record for season blocks with 139. Deyshia plays for Sports Performance and was on the National Championship team. As of now for this season Deyshia has 66 blocks along with 42 kills. She has committed to Indiana University.
